Who we are

linkwup is run by Victor Fatunse in Finland, who is the controller of the personal data described here. Write to [email protected] about anything on this page.

What we keep about you
  • Your account: email address, name, country, plan and settings
  • Your profiles: what you do, the CV you add and what we read from it, and your search preferences
  • Your leads and job applications, your notes, and the messages, cover letters and CVs written for you
  • Interview briefs and mock interview answers
  • If you connect a mailbox: its address and an app password, stored encrypted
  • Emails sent from your mailbox through linkwup, kept for 90 days
  • For each AI request made for you: what it was for, which model, and its size. Not what was sent or written back
  • Payments: amount, plan and the payment provider's reference. Card details stay with the provider
  • Server logs: the time, address and country of each request, used for security and to show the right prices
Why we use it, and on what basis
  • To run the service you asked for: finding leads and jobs, writing what you request, sending what you choose to send, and reminding you to follow up. Basis: contract
  • To keep linkwup safe for you and for the businesses and employers you contact, including checking messages and preventing misuse. Basis: legitimate interests
  • To take payment and keep the records the law requires. Basis: legal obligation
  • To send from your own mailbox when you connect it. Basis: your consent, which you can withdraw by disconnecting it
Businesses and people listed in linkwup

linkwup holds details of businesses and, where they are published, of the people who run them: names, business addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, websites, social pages and company registration details. They come from open data sets, official company registers and the businesses' own websites, listed on the data sources page.

We use them so that members can find businesses that may need their work and contact them about it. Our basis is legitimate interests. You can ask us to show you what we hold, correct it, or remove it, and you can object to its use at any time. We keep a do-not-contact list so a removed business is not added again. Write to [email protected] with the business name and city.

Who else sees it
  • Groq, our AI model provider, which processes your profile, CV and the text needed for each request
  • Our email and hosting providers, which carry and store the service
  • Stripe and Paystack, which take payment
  • The business or employer you send a message to, when you send it
  • Our staff, when reviewing a safety flag or helping you

These providers act on our instructions. We don't sell your data and we don't share it for advertising.

Moving data between countries

linkwup has members worldwide, and our providers may process data outside your country. Groq, for example, processes requests in the United States and other regions. Where the law requires a safeguard for that, we use one.

How long we keep it
  • Your account data, until you delete your account
  • Emails sent from your mailbox, for 90 days
  • Payment records, for as long as the law requires, without your name once you delete your account
  • A one-way scrambled form of your email address, with your plan and the free allowances you used, so an account opened again with that address carries on from there. It cannot be turned back into your address
Cookies

We use only the cookies needed to run linkwup: one to keep you signed in for up to 30 days, one to protect forms, and short-lived ones that carry a notice or a search you started before signing up. There are no advertising or analytics cookies, so there is no banner to accept.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it, to limit how we use it, to take it elsewhere, or to object to a use. In Settings you can download everything we hold about you and delete your account. For anything else, write to us and we will reply within one month. If you are not happy with the answer, you can complain to the data protection authority in your country.

Automated processing

AI writes drafts and ranks matches, and you decide what to do with them. Automated checks can stop a message from being sent or pause sending from an account. If that happens to you, you can ask for a person to look at it.

Security

Connections use HTTPS, mailbox passwords are encrypted, and access to member data is limited to the people who need it.

Age

linkwup is for people aged 16 or over.

Changes

If we change this page in a way that matters, we will email you before it applies.
